I'm the worst blogger on the planet. everytime i start one of these, i think, "hey a blog is a great idea! every photographer has one" and then i actually make one and forget about it for years. anyhow i'm finally gonna post some new stuff. I'm definitely not MIA, i've been busy photographing various projects. heres something from my current project, photographing the latino black metal scene.

as cheesy and cliche as this photo is, there is a funny story behind it. nils needed to shoot photos for class, emphasizing reflections and lines and shadows and really lame elementary shit. so i spent my time trying to swoop in on his photos and finish his assignment before he did.

i shot this 2 years ago upon my first time seeing jay reatard live. i fucked it up pretty bad, using 3200 film with flash. bad idea. and then i blew it more by getting a really shitty scan. but in memory of jay reatard's untimely death, i decided that these photos must get posted despite the circumstances. his flying v was buried with him. RIP dude.

jay's music pioneered the modern garage-punk revival. he was before black lips!, wavves, no age, vivian girls, strange boys, etc. i discovered his first band, the reatards about 4 years ago, and it gave me hope for the modern punk scene. its a shame that the world will no longer have one of the hardest working musicians.

i'm not good with routines. so naturally i'm horrible with blogs, coffee, cell phones, and yoga. this is my third attempt at making a photography related blog, for good reasons of course.

anyone who knows me, knows i've been dealing with an artists block. my intent is to spark my daily shooting routine back into life.

i'm also looking for some gallery space. hook a brotha up.

on a side note, this website has been filling my rain filled day with internet bliss. he responds to criagslist ads with ridiculous and unrealistic demands.
